Engineering and testing project to validate the integration of Nabrajoint into a wind turbine blade from a top OEM (client undisclosed).

The project included the following key phases:

• Joint adaptation: Nabrajoint geometry and layout were tailored to fit the client’s blade design, structural loads and manufacturing process.
• Manufacturing integration: successful full-scale manufacturing integration trials validated compatibility with the client’s manufacturing procedures.
• Subcomponent testing: full-scale joint assemblies were tested to assess mechanical performance under representative blade conditions.
• Lightning Protection System (LPS) integration tests: confirmed electrical continuity between the OEM and Nabrajoint systems.

Although no full-scale blade test was performed, the integration process was validated through realistic process, structural and electrical trials.

The project confirmed Nabrajoint’s adaptability to any blade structural design and manufacturing process, reinforcing its value as a versatile solution for split blade applications.
