Nabrabase in Namibia

Nabrabase in Namibia

Nabrabase in Namibia

Project Description

This project covers the design, manufacturing, and installation of four Nabrabase foundations for #InnoVentDiaz wind farm in Namibia. Each of the four XEMC turbines (2 MW, 93 m rotor) will be installed on 80-meter towers.

A key innovation is the use of bedrock-anchored foundations, which streamline construction and significantly reduce concrete use—delivering both cost and environmental advantages.

Key Project Features:

  • Design, Manufacturing, and Assembly: The project covers all phases, from the conception and detailed design of the Nabrabase structures to their fabrication and on-site installation at the wind farm in Namibia.
  • Four Nabrabase Units: A total of four Nabrabase foundations will be installed, one for each wind turbine.
  • 2 MW XEMC Turbines: The wind farm will consist of four turbines from the renowned manufacturer XEMC, each with a 2 MW rated power, totaling 8 MW of installed capacity.
  • 93-meter Rotor Diameter: Each turbine is equipped with a large 93-meter rotor, maximizing energy conversion efficiency.
  • 80-meter Tower Height: The 80-meter tower height ensures the turbines operate at optimal elevations to capture stronger, more consistent winds.
  • Bedrock-Anchored Foundations: One of the project’s most distinctive features is the foundation design, which anchors directly into the underlying rock. This enhances structural stability and significantly reduces the need for large volumes of concrete.
